Spiral and Extruded Finned Tubes
- Aluminium Tube Surfaces for practical purposes have the same heat transfer rates as that of copper tube. They are recommended for specific heating, cooling and industrial systems using water, steam, glycols, brine and refrigerants including ammonia. Aviod the use of methyl chloride. Secondary fin surfaces are generally aluminium.
- Stainless Steel Tube Surfaces are suitable for an industrial range of process heating and cooling system designs where the air or gas side and the internal tube corrosion factors may be involved with steam, water, vapours, thermal fluids or other heat transfer agents. Generally available with stainless, aluminium or other secondary fin surfaces. Stainless fin surfaces should be derated approximately 50% while aluminium fin surfaces should be derated 30% in heat transfer capacity over copper or aluminium tube surfaces.
- Cupro-Nickle Tube Surfaces are used in many situations as an alternate to copper and aluminium tubes for higher pressure steam and corrosive liquid phase conditions.
